The Adamas II guitar is an accurate recreation of the classic model played by countless touring musicians over the past 30 years. Ovation s "Original Patented Pickup" and stereo preamp combine for a sound that sets the standard for live and studio performance.
Adamas acoustic electric guitar uses six piezo electric transducers located directly beneath a Delrin saddle that is set to achieve proper intonation. String vibrations are not only amplified from the top of the saddle, but their mechanical action on the Fibronic Soundboard is also transmitted. This patented system produces a clear, natural, uncolored sound picture of exceptional depth and presence, and as loud as the music might demand. The stereo feature is wired so that, when used with the stereo Y-chord supplied, the output of strings 1, 3 and 5 goes to one channel, and 2, 4 and 6 to the other. Separation of left and right channels is achieved when used with a stereo amplifier/PA or two individual amps.
The built in Adamas FET Preamp reduces hum and line noise, giving the guitar virtual immunity to feedback. Separate volume and tone controls are mounted at the waist of the acoustic electric guitar for ease of adjustment and quick visual reference while playing.
The FET preamp (Field Effect Transistor) Is one of two major categories of transistor; the other is bipolar. The FET preamp uses a gate element that, when charged, creates an electromagnetic field that changes the conductivity of a silicon Preamp features the circuitry of its innovative OBP-1 onboard preamp in a sturdy and compact package. The sound is transparent and warm and has true dynamic headroomdynamic headroom tone. This allows for the capacity of an amplifier to reproduce unusually strong signals without distortion.
Features include; all FET circuit design, volume, treble and bass controls, two bands of boost, and an 18 volt system.
