John Moyer is the bassist and back up vocalist for the alternative metal band Disturbed.
Since the band's formation they have sold over 11 million albums worldwide behind the success of singles "Stupify" and "Down With The Sickness", making them one of the largest grossing hard rock bands in recent years. The band has released four consecutive studio albums that have debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for "Inside The Fire," from their 2008 album Indestructible. Moyer's bass playing can be heard on Disturbed's third studio album Ten Thousand Fists, their fourth album Indestructible and Disturbed's fifth studio album Asylum (released Sept. 2010). Asylum is the act's fourth consecutive studio album that debuted at No. 1, a feat achieved by only two other rock bands in the history of the chart: Metallica and Dave Matthews Band.
Moyer was formerly part of the Texas hard rock act The Union Underground. Prior to his stint in The Union Underground, he was the bassist of the popular band Soak. When not on tour with Disturbed, he teaches at Natural Ear Music in Austin, Texas, where he works with young bands. In addition to this, Moyer also works in partnership with Silver Tongue Management where he helps discover and develop upcoming artists and bands.
